Our school district has been working over the past few months on a possible agreement with Carlton Public Schools to serve their students in grades 9 to 12 starting in the 2022-2023 school year. We have invested many hours of work to discuss the details in order to reach a potential agreement that will benefit students in both districts and bring benefits to both communities. We wanted to share the current draft with our community before each formal board meeting in order to be transparent in our potential plan and answer questions from community members. Our Board of Directors plans to take action on this matter at the earliest at our Board meeting on January 10. We have provided a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) as a starting point to address common concerns raised during the drafting of the agreement. If you have a question that is not addressed in the FAQ, please email your question to our Superintendent, Dr. Michael Cary, at [email protected] Join Superintendent ISD #94 Dr. Cary, staff, school board members and the Cloquet School District Administration at a coffee shop near you! We have worked hard throughout the year to ensure we create an environment where our students go to school in person. So far, we have succeeded. Having said that, we had a number of days where we experienced severe staff shortages, but we were able to keep our school buildings open. Recently, we have seen a trend in our region and across the state where a rapid increase in illness, related to COVID and other illnesses, is making schools and school districts unable to staff their schools safely. Due to rapidly changing road conditions, public clonquet schools switch to a two-hour late check-out.
